Monitoring and Information Management

For ongoing assessment of the state’s water resources, Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has and is further developing a comprehensive monitoring program and a well-coordinated, computer/web based system for information management. EPD and its contractors are compiling existing data, coordinating and integrating governmental and voluntary water monitoring programs, identifing information gaps and developing a program to fill those gaps.

USGS Water Resources Information and Data for Georgia
This Web site provides access to the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) network of surface-water, ground-water, and water-quality monitoring sites for real-time and historical hydrologic data. This data was used as the starting point for the resource assessments being provided to the regional water planning councils.
